Global citizens have a certain sense of style. One of the ways in which they demonstrate this style is with the watches they choose to wear. The Manero Flyback by Carl F. Bucherer is a piece of exquisite Lucerne craftsmanship that can be worn on the wrist and a watch that makes a stylish and distinctly cosmopolitan statement. Carl F. Bucherer is using this message in its new advertising campaign to reach out to the growing target group of young global citizens.
Lucerne, November 6, 2017. They travel more than any previous generation. They make spontaneous decisions – dinner in Paris, a wedding in New York, or a holiday in the Sahara. According to the results of various studies, global citizens are a generation of explorers. Many of them also work for international
companies, head up teams spread across different cities, and spend their lives hopping from continent to continent. It is precisely these global nomads that are the perfect fit for Carl F. Bucherer’s new luxury watch, the Manero Flyback.
As the famous Chinese proverb says, the longest journey begins with a single step. Carl Friedrich Bucherer took this first step when he opened a specialty shop for watches and jewelry in Lucerne in 1888.
This shop has since grown into an international company, and Carl F. Bucherer has become a watch brand that has an excellent reputation around the globe – particularly with people who feel at home wherever they are in the world. They see the Manero Flyback as an ambassador for the city of Lucerne, a piece of Switzerland that accompanies them wherever they go. The new Carl F. Bucherer advertising campaign builds on this idea. This broad-based advertising campaign, with the slogan “ Wherever time takes you, Lucerne travels with you, ” shows a range of different travel destinations from the point of view of the watch, and will be launched across various social media and advertising channels in November 2017. At Baselworld in March 2017, Carl F. Bucherer launched three new versions of the Manero Flyback – three unique luxury watches and perfectly sophisticated accessories for stylish travelers. Each variation of this model, whether in rose gold or stainless steel, has its own individual charm. They all share the same case with the typical Manero family design vocabulary – classically round with a diameter of 43 millimeters, in line with current trends.
The heart of the Manero Flyback is the highly complex CFB 1970 caliber, which can be admired through the see-through case back. This automatic movement boasts a power reserve of 42 hours. The recording of short times operates via a gear wheel, and the watch also features a flyback function that allows for the quick recording of consecutive times.
The new Manero Flyback is housed in a discreetly elegant stainless steel case, and its dial shimmers like the surface of a secluded Alpine lake. Depending on the angle of the light, the dial appears to change color from grey blue to dark blue. Stainless steel hands and appliquéd indices and a grey alligator-leather strap complete the stylish look of the watch. The rose gold Manero is a classic purist’s timepiece with a shimmering metallic deep black dial so multifaceted
it warrants more than just a second glance. Together with the flange at the edge of the dial, the slightly recessed small seconds subdial at 3 o’clock and minute counter at 9 o’clock emphasize the dial’s three-dimensional design.
The Manero Flyback with a champagne dial is a particularly elegant ambassador for Lucerne, a city that is home to stunning baroque buildings. A shimmering golden champagne tone is used as the base color of the galvanized dial, while a more intense gold tone is used for the chapter ring and the two subdials. The hands and ten appliquéd indices feature the same rose gold tone as the case – as on the model with the black dial.
Global citizens explore the world that they live and work in. Those who wish to accompany them need to be reliable and cosmopolitan individuals with character. Just like the Manero Flyback. With this timepiece, they can take a piece of Lucerne with them wherever they go.
