To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Leica’s Berlin store ‘Meister Camera’, Leica has issued a limited edition Monochrome camera that’s strictly limited to just ten pieces worldwide.
The camera is an homage to the city of Berlin in the most ironic way, with a body and lens that are neither painted nor chromed. Instead, they are chemically treated with brown pickling solution. The incomplete impression of this limited edition–also due to the lack of paint inlays on all engravings and the cold effect of unfinished surfaces–are a mirror for the pulsating, constantly changing and evolving metropolis of Berlin. Leica believes camera connoisseurs will recognise the interpretation by the appearance of this limited edition model. We’ll leave that up to you to decide.
Available early February 2017, the Meister Edition will set you back approximately $26,800.
