These days it appears that every car manufacturer, including those whose makes and models adorn a more expensive price tag, continue to unveil their plans for all-electric luxury vehicles within the next couple of years. And why not? After witnessing the success brands like Tesla have enjoyed over the years, it would be futile for these companies to not adjust their power plants accordingly.
Take Maserati for instance with their first electric two-seater set to be released in 2020. It’s the electric version of the Alfieri, the brand’s tribute to one of the founding Maserati brothers. The electric Alfieri aims to serve as a direct – though larger – competitor to the Porsche 911, Bentley and Jaguar. A gasoline version of the car, boasting a six-cylinder engine, is slated for a 2019 release as well. Unfortunately, the Italian car company hasn’t released much in the way of performance specs or a price for the model, but given the brand’s reputation and history, we’re confident they’ll become a viable player in the EV market.
