Nomos, the German watchmaker famous for its Bauhaus-influenced minimalist watch designs, recently released a limited edition of its model “Orion” to pay tribute to the De Stijl artistic movement of the early 20th century.
De Stijl is distinguished by distilling work down to extremely simple forms and simple horizontal and vertical lines as well as simple colors like black, white and other primary colors. The movement’s most famous and best known artist is the Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan.
De Stijl is the trailblazer of the later Bauhaus movement in Germany, of which Nomos draws inspiration for many of its beautiful wristwatches.
This classy and elegant watch is a masterpiece with a true historical backround. The Orion limited edition starts at 1.960€ and is limited to 100 pieces. It is available online at Ace Jewelers only, but can be shipped internationally.
